For over 90 years our client has made a legacy in their industry. This global leader is in search of a Tooling Design Engineer for their Saint Louis, MO facility. This individual will carry out assignments as a designer of tools for deep hole gun drilling, milling, reaming, boring, trepanning, skiving and roller brushing.

Use project management techniques suitable for producing products or processes in a timely fashion.

Independently solve technical problems analytically or empirically.

Review the work of drafting or engineering records as it relates to a specific project.

Serve as a technical specialist for the organization (division or company) for an assigned area of responsibilities, i.e., subject matter expertise with function, type of facility or equipment, or product.

 

Job Description:

Electrical Emphasis Skill-set

  • As appropriate, provide troubleshooting of programmed devices, including the ability to perform programming and debugging functions for PLC based devices working within company protocols.
  • Per requirement, design, layout, assemble and test electrical control panels and wiring for machine and automation systems, may also provide leadership and guidance to others in assembly work
  • Follow regulatory standards in the design of compliant electrical systems

Mechanical Emphasis Skill-set

  • Independently design and develop mechanical systems or modify designs to improve functionality value
  • Per requirement, create mechanical components, assemblies, and diagrams using 3-D solid modeling or 2-D CAD software
  • Follow regulatory standards in the design of compliant mechanical systems

Materials Emphasis Skill-set

  • Per requirement, independently support Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, and Process Engineering functions for the company's abrasive product line
  • Per requirement, support new product development functions for the company's abrasive product line
  • Following company protocols, per requirement, create mechanical components, assemblies, and diagrams using 3-D solid modeling or 2-D CAD software
  • Follow regulatory standards in the design of compliant products and manufacturing processes
  • Assist in material selections across a wide array of product lines

Marginal Functions

Complete Basic Training tasks to:

  • Become familiar with all company policies and standards
  • Gain Proficiency in the use of company IT systems
  • Gain and apply basic knowledge of the honing process; application and troubleshooting
  • Gain basic knowledge to understand structure and practices for all company departments with which the position is expected to interact

Required education:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline

Required experience:

  • Deep hole drilling design: 3 years
  • 3D Modeling: 3 years
  • Tooling Design: 3 years
