Production Manager

We are seeking an experienced food manufacturing Production Manager for our client located in a quiet town of Iowa.  This person should have 5 plus years, minimum, experience as a production supervisor and desires to play a key role within the organization.  If you have dairy or egg industry, that would be perfect!  Our client is, a financially strong and stable company with several plants in the Iowa area.  They have an opening for a Production Manager, due to a retirement, and are seeking someone who is a great communicator, a strong leader and also has an experienced background in quality.  There is a growth opportunity for this production leader to become the Plant Manager within 1 year.

 

This position will learn and work with all aspects of production including breaking, processing, and drying of eggs.  Reports to the General Manager and will also work closely with the Safety, Quality Control, Accounting, and Human Resource departments.

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Be a great communicator.
  • Lead by example and hold employees accountable.
  • Confers with other management personnel to meet/exceed quality control standards.
  • Works with Quality Control to ensure USDA standards are met.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Conduct hiring, scheduling, and training of employees.
  • Assist with Human Resources issues when they arise.
  • Cross-train staff to ensure all positions can be covered.
  • Learn our procurement and sales methodologies.
  • Learn how the plant operates to know what is required to obtain deadlines.
  • Execute the orders and ensure deliveries to customers are accurate and on time.
  • Work with all levels of the organization to learn the business.
  • Develops the trust and confidence of associates.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university: or five years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Food manufacturing experience only.

Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred. 

Knowledge of basic computer skills with Microsoft products.

 

Physical Requirements:

Be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
