CAD/Engineering Manager

For over 60 years our rapidly growing client has been the leading equipment manufacturer in their industry.  They are looking for a CAD/Engineering Manager to join their team in beautiful northern Wyoming area.  This individual will plan, organizes and directs engineering resources to meet company objectives related to: product design, new product development, production and delivery of customer site and system drawing packages, and the improvement of existing product lines.  This position is being created to help manage the rapidly evolving organization's engineering function and to develop younger engineers in their careers


Job Responsibilities:


  • Oversee and manage key projects to completion.
  • Define standard processes and methods used within the CAD/Engineering group as well as within the larger organization to ensure efficient and effective achievement of company goals and objectives.
  • Define and establish effective documentation systems within the department to ensure appropriate safety, security, accessibility, and revision control of internal and external parts, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Select, develop, train and supervise staff.
  • Establish and maintain processes to collect, assess, prioritize, and execute new product development, product improvement, and product change activities aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • With initial guidance from top management, establish a department budget concerning personnel costs, capital expenditures, training costs, etc.  Track and report on a quarterly basis.
  • Establish methods to track and report progress of project activities.
  • Work closely with other departments (manufacturing, operations, sales, quality, etc.) to ensure appropriate alignment and consistent understanding of internal activities.
  • As necessary, interact directly with vendors and customers regarding engineering, design, and development topics.



Job Qualifications:

  • B.S. Engineering degree from an accredited college
  • Six years of relevant work experience (preferably in a product development, manufacturing, or architectural environment)
  • Direct experience using Autodesk Inventor and Revit strongly preferred

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
