Senior Technical Sales Representative

We have (2) openings for Senior Technical Sales Rep for our client, a manufacturer and supplier of microbial enzymes for the Food industry.  Seeking someone with 10 years of sales experience in the food ingredients or nutraceutical industry, with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (scientific oriented).  A seasoned sales professional who is a strong relationship builders, who can travel overnight 30-40% and has a positive track record in establishing new business. 



  1. Responsible for primarily developing new company's sales with 70% the majority focus on developing new business through professional sales techniques and quality customer service with new accounts by performing the following duties.
  1. Responsible for developing and maintaining the company's sales with 30% focus on existing business through professional sales techniques and quality customer service, maintaining quality relations with the existing assigned accounts by performing the following duties. 


Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Initiates and develops at least $100,000 sales every year through competitive sales techniques and knowledge of the company's products and services as well as the competition's strengths/weaknesses.
  2. Establishes annual sales budget.
  3. Meets or surpasses the annual sales budget.
  4. Builds and maintains quality relations with the existing assigned accounts, and increases account base and volume of sales on a consistent basis.
  5. Responsible for reporting to the supervisor and senior management to explain the business status as effectively, simply, and concisely as possible in a timely manner.  
  6. Contacts customers via telephone, e-mail, correspondence or in person by traveling as frequently as necessary to meet and surpass profitable sales goals for the company.
  7. Reevaluates work on an ongoing basis to increase market share.
  8. Assesses quality of offerings and develops opinion reports on strategies to increase the company's market share.
  9. Creates customized proposals to meet specific customer requirements in an efficient manner.

10.  Stays abreast of market conditions regarding products, product updates, service offerings and new technologies through available resources.

11.  Utilizes company leads to expand current customer base and follows up all leads promptly.

12.  Maintains updated, organized files on all accounts in assigned territory.

13.  Submits call report to the supervisor within 48 hours after visiting customer.

14.  Submits monthly sales report to the supervisor and update the action plan sheets by the first business day of the next month.

15.  Completes and submits sales reports each month on account activity, outstanding proposals, proposals secured and proposals lost with complete documentation.

16.  Provides information and/or follows up on customers as requested.

17.  Maintains close contact with Technical Service on new applications and new developmental enzymes that could lead to close cooperation with customers on mutually beneficial and economically feasible products.

18.  Works jointly with Technical Service to promote new application areas that would support new businesses or expand existing markets with Amano's enzymes.

19.  Develops partnerships with new customers to expand Amano's presence and expertise in the specialty enzyme area.

20.  Maintains travel costs and operates with the guidelines or parameters as established by company.   

21.  Implements 5S Pillars within workplace.

22.  Performs other related duties as assigned


Food Safety Reporting Responsibilities:

  1. Responsibility to report any and all food safety problems or concerns to the proper personnel authorized to initiate action.
