Job Overview:

Our Company is currently looking for an experienced, accomplished, self-motivated Electrical Engineer to maintain and support our industry-leading products and systems. The Electrical Engineer will work across a variety of functional groups that are directly involved in engineering, product development, implementation, and international contract manufacturing partners. Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects. Duties will include working with maintenance personnel, to maximize the efficiency of production equipment and facility operations.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program Allen Bradley PLC's, Drives (AC/DC), VFD and have a strong working knowledge of equipment within the stamping industry.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Manage projects, to update existing equipment (PLC's, Drives and controls), install new equipment and maintain current equipment.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
  • Support maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
  • Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting repair service when required.
  • Maintains product data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
  • Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Skills, Essential Functions, and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5-8 years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in high volume metal stamping, tool & die design, press operation/maintenance/ modernization, and operator training.
  • Experience and training with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), AC/DC drives and computer systems.
  • Understanding and ability to apply good documentation practices in the form of equipment/process drawings and specifications, as well as set up, operating, and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) well with employees on all levels.
  • Project management experience. Experience preparing capital equipment justifications and procurement required.
  • Strong knowledge of systematic problem-solving approaches.
  • Very high computer literacy and experience using a spreadsheet, graphics, and word processing and database programs required.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing/One-piece flow techniques desired.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
