Mechanical Drafting Engineer

Our client, a cutting edge fabricator of edible nut, seed and grain processors is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team!  Skills and knowledge for projects in agriculture or granular handling equipment, specifically nut processing is desirable.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal Mechanical Design Engineer must possess all of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in mechanical design engineering or related field of study AND 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience.


Associate's degree with emphasis in mechanical design engineering and 9 to 10 years of mechanical engineering experience.

  • Experience working in metal fabrication or similar hands-on, real word fabrication experience.
  • Significant exposure to welding and metal fabrication processes
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks (or Inventor 3D) design software.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD/CAM software & drawing procedures.  AutoCAD 2D and 3D required.
  • Courteous and energetic communicator and collaborator, both internally and externally
  • Personable, (demonstrated) strong work ethic, independent and responsible professional.
  • Preference is someone from granular handling equipment, agriculture processing, or grain/seed industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage, prioritize and complete projects or programs.

Coordinate project work with other engineers, fabrication department and management team.

Troubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate and document industrial engineering solutions aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing costs and optimizing materials, equipment and people.

Identify broad conceptual ideas and develop them into useful solutions.

Develop and maintain CAD drawings for standards

Take field measurements for drawing purposes.

Provide technical support and solutions for installation personnel

Develop bills of material for purchasing.
