For over 90 years our client has made a legacy in their industry.  This global leader is in search of an Associate Engineer in their Saint Louis, MO facility.  This individual will perform the duties required involving application of knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Make decisions with supervisory or senior engineering assistance on engineering problems and methods, implementation of theories, precepts and practices of own field and related sciences and disciplines. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually results from formal training or related on-the-job experience. Supervision and guidance relate to overall objectives, critical issues, basic engineering concepts, and policy matters, consulting with supervisor on a somewhat regular basis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As an individual researcher or worker, carry out assignments requiring the design and improvement of custom engineered solutions in machine design or control.
  • Communicate globally on engineering projects with the ability to solve problems analytically or empirically with the assistance of the supervisor or senior engineers in the department.
  • Coordinate, and review the work of drafting or engineering records as it relates to a specific project.
  • Technically assist other departments in a support role when appropriate.
  • Assist in custom machine installation at offsite locations with other project engineers and technicians (may require up to 6 trips annually approximately 1 week in duration). (This pertains to the Engineered Solutions Group.)
  • Electrical Emphasis Position
  • As appropriate, creation of ladder logic (PLC), software creation, device programming proficiency, usage of CAD and corporate IT systems.
  • Understanding of NFPA and NEC standards sufficient to design electrical systems compliant to these standards.
  • Mechanical Emphasis Position
  • As appropriate, creation of mechanical components and assemblies using solid modeling software, creation of hydraulic, pneumatic diagrams using 2-D Cad software.

Job Requirements:

Education: Requires a high school education or equivalent plus additional broad specialized Engineering training equal to two years of college.

Experience: Requires a minimum of three years up to and including five years to gain sufficient experience to perform the requirements of the position.
