Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer

For over 50 years our client has made a name for themselves in their industry.  They are in search for an Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer in the Muskegon, MI area.  This individual will oversee the manufacturing of products and services based on customer's needs.  Some of the other responsibilities are listed below.

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Establishes and maintains a project report including schedule and cost for all projects in order to keep upper management and customers up to date.
  • Develops the manufacturing flow for each project as required. Identifies risks and develops mitigation plans.
  • Work with Quality to develop process documentation and inspection approach.

 

  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, First Article Inspection Report and fixed processes.
  • Lead or support Bid  / No Bid initial opportunity review
  • Requisitions or purchases all essential engineered specification parts and equipment as needed.
  • Develops and maintains the exact bill of materials for each project.
  • Manages preparation of engineering drawings for manufacturing and assembly.

 

  • Lead or support proposal efforts to include detailed cost estimate, schedule, NRE, budget, tooling cost and design time.
  • Collaborates with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teammates and with customers to optimize tooling, manufacture, assembly, and testing.
  • Elevates and resolves unforeseen and challenging issues in a timely fashion.
  • Track of lessons learned and shares with team members for continual improvement.

 

  • Supports employee training

 

  • Develop a strong professional relationship with co-workers.

 

  • Demonstrate the ability to function and contribute independently.

 

  • Ability to lead and supervise machinists.

 

 

 

  EDUCATION and JOB SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  •  3-5 years Project/Manufacturing experience
  • Experience with aerospace and or industrial gas turbine manufacturing process, especially those of machined castings a plus!
  • Strong Technical Communication
  • Project Management Skills
  • Product Engineering Skills
  • Time Management in the face of multiple time sensitive projects
  • Position can lead to Director of Manufacturing position or Business Unit Manager
  • Applicants with the required and demonstrated skill sets without a Bachelor's degree may be considered
