For centuries our client has been a diversified global company with a portfolio of unique niche businesses focused on highly engineered solutions in the industrial markets.  They are in search of a Quality Manager who provides strong leadership and strategic planning to develop, implement and maintain quality assurance processes that support the business mission and ongoing continuous improvement for the manufacturing facility near Jackson, TN.

 

Job Description:

 

  • Manage day to day quality requirements for the site.  Assures quality assurance processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards, testing materials and product. 
  • Support Manufacturing Team as a mechanical expert with a focus on quality planning for existing and new products/processes. 
  • Interprets drawings, and tools to develop product requirements. 
  • Drives continuous improvement objectives to ensure quality, delivery, and cost targets are achieved. 
  • Collaborate with site-specific suppliers/vendors by conducting supplier audits and holding them accountable for nonconforming product and standards to the Corporate Supplier Development program. 
  • Improve site quality procedures, metrics, processes, and monitor performance against short and long-range plans to achieve quality goals. 
  • Coordinate and conduct troubleshooting efforts to drive 24 hour Containment, Relentless Root Cause Analysis (RRCA), Preventive Action/Mistake Proofing for non-conforming customer escapes (RMA) and major internal failures that impact customers. 
  • Provide training and personnel development opportunities for team members in an effort to build a culture of quality throughout the site and supply chain. 
  • Implement a Risk Analysis and Risk Mitigation (PPAP/FMEA/DFQ) program that includes suppliers, manufacturing, and business intelligence areas for the site. 
  • Work directly with customers to drive timely resolutions to customer inquiries, feedback investigations, and corrective actions. 
  • Develops quality metrics/monitors performance across the division, reports progress, and keeps corporate leadership informed of progress, issues, corrective action, and customer complaints. 
  • Provide direction to ensure compliance with all applicable customer requirements, government regulations, and ISO standards. 

 

Job Qualification

  • Bachelors in Engineering or related technical field preferred
  • 5+ years Quality Assurance Management
  • 10+ years engineering discipline
  • Experience utilizing statistical analysis and process capability 
  • ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 experience 
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Highly developed human relations, communications and internal consulting skills necessary to establish and maintain effective work relationships
  • Leadership skills and the ability to motivate people to create value and eliminate waste
