Manufacturing Engineer

For over 100 years our client has been a leader in their industry.  They are in search for a Manufacturing Engineer in their Omaha, Nebraska facility.  This individual will be responsible for establishing initial production costs and production cost/time standards and then making improvements in production processes to reduce said costs and cycle times.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Thru the production cycle, ensures all information related to product requirements is available to production thru SAP outputs and assure that the routing information is correct.
  • Assign accurate process costs and costing standards in SAP, including labor standard costs, to all manufactured items.
  • Approve and review all Engineering request on behalf of the companies' manufacturing to assure that routings are properly established for all components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Design machines, fixtures, tooling, and material handling equipment, and automated processes to manufacture.
  • Must be able to design manufacturing processes that meet OSHA standards for safety and assure that no harm will come to the company personnel working.
  • Thoroughly understand the costs involved with manufacturing products to meet engineering specifications and customer requirements, and identify opportunities for cost improvements (reductions).

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree
  • 3-5 years' experience in a related field and degree
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as length, weight, speed, area, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw on valid conclusion. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
