Assistant Controller – Construction

Position Summary –
The Assistant Controller will lead accounting functions in the finance department and is responsible
for planning, directing and executing the day-to-day and monthly accounting activities. Responsible for developing
and implementing financial policies, as well as, leading the accounting department. Conducts detailed analyses of cost
center activity working collaboratively with business unit leaders and management in the evaluation of financial data
to identify business opportunities and cost reductions.
Education
-Must have a Bachelors degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance, working towards MBA or CPA is a
plus.
Experience
-7 to 10 years of accounting working experience; at least 3 years in an Assistant Controller role
-Construction industry experience preferred
-Public accounting experience a plus
Job Responsibilities
-Oversees various accounting operations, and manages the Companies overall accounting and operating
control environment
-Manages billing, accounts receivables, credit & collections, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, fixed assets
and general ledger accounting and staff
-Identifies accounting and financial issues, and suggests timely solutions
-Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
-Manage quality control over financial transactions and reporting
-Responsible for execution and co-ordination of quarterly inventory counts
-Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process
-Produce and/or support the production of financial statements, as needed
-Review and ensure accuracy of regulatory reporting for payroll
-Coordinate and manage the preparation of external reporting to banks and annual audit
-Manage the compliance with local, state, and federal government tax and licensing requirements and filings
