Night Shift Federal Construction Superintendent – Must be willing to work overnight
Civil and building construction to the public and private sectors with self-performing capabilities.
Projects generally range from 4 to 24 months depending on size, scope, complexity, and relevancy.
Current operations in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky, Florida, Arizona, Texas
Responsibilities:
▪ Plan, coordinate, direct and supervise all aspects of the day to day field operations
▪ Effectively communicate and coordinate with all project team members to maintain project
schedule, safety, budget and quality control efforts
▪ Plan and organize project work to assure all work is in place in accordance with contract
documents
▪ Have working knowledge of owner contract, subcontracts and purchase orders
▪ Conduct on-site meetings with subcontractors, owners and tradesmen
▪ Schedule and monitor field productivity
▪ Provide mentorship and training to project team
▪ Supervise project start up, project completion, and entire close-out process
▪ Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI
logs, and submittal logs
▪ Manage and oversee all contractual issues
▪ Establish and maintain customer relationships
▪ Accurate forecasting of costs for job completion
▪ Ensure timely and safe completion of project, while adhering to contract documents and project
budgets
▪ Coordinate with Safety Manager to ensure projects are completed in accordance with safety
goals
▪ Utilize Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans
▪ Develop strategy for personnel development & recruiting
Mandatory Qualifications:
▪ 5-20 years’ experience with a hard-bid general contracting company
▪ A thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems
▪ Experience in federal sector projects
▪ Experience in healthcare projects
▪ Experience in preconstruction tasks, managing change orders, writing contracts and building
schedules
▪ Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe and Bluebeam
▪ Ability to write and comprehend RFIs, potential change orders, project schedules, 3-week look aheads and other project documents
▪ Ability to manage subs in a hard-bid capacity understanding subcontractor contract scope and
holding subcontractors to their contracts
▪ Ability to clearly communicate to home office, Owner, Subcontractors and experience running
owner meetings
▪ Excitement about working on any shift, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, as hospital construction occurs at all
hours
▪ Experience in Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union required projects
▪ Ability to pass a background investigation and a drug test
Preferred Qualifications:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
▪ Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
▪ Knowledge of EM 385-1-1 or construction SSHO or SHPM
▪ Certified in Healthcare Compliance
▪ CQMC certified from USACE
▪ OSHA 30 Certified
▪ Experience managing projects $2-10MM
