Position Purpose:

The electronics technician provides skilled electrical / electronic and mechanical support to all areas of manufacturing.

 

Principal Duties:

Works safely with machine repair in a maintenance and production environment.

Practices proper Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Follows Arc Flash Procedures.

Practices proper GMP guidelines at all times.

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Ability to read and write electrical prints and ladder logic to properly and efficiently diagnose equipment issues.

Must be able to safely diagnose electrical systems on energized electrical circuits up to 480V 3 phase.

Demonstrates excelled computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Wonderware, Factory Talk, among other software platforms.

Familiar with Ethernet, Profibus, Asi bus, CAN, Arc net, Factory Talk, Wonderware, among other networking systems.

Troubleshooting and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls and HMI, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment in packaging to include, yet not limited to, indexing wrapping machines, flow wrapping machines, overwrapping machines, robotics, case erectors.

Troubleshoots and replaces electrical components including, yet not limited to:  Safety devices, light fixtures, relays, solenoids, switches, transformers, outlets, plugs, motors including brushless DC and Servo encoders, tacho generators, panels, bulbs, wiring, etc.  Voltage direct and alternating current up to 3 phase 480 volts, variable frequency and servo drives.  Dynamic and static braking.  Load cells ultrasonic and other weight systems.  All within guidelines of local electrical code.

Works safely with a sense of urgency.

Continuously demonstrates good communication skills with all Andes employees and contractors.

Certified to safely operate industrial lifting and moving equipment.

Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

 

Requirements

Must be able to complete all duties as described above

Associate degree in Electronic/Electrical technician skills is strongly preferred

Bachelor degree preferred

 

GMP / Food Safety / Quality

Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.  Responsible to produce safe, quality products according to specifications, procedures, work instructions and policies set by management according to the client Food Safety Programs (HACCP and/or Preventive Controls) and Manufacturing Quality System which adheres to SQF (Safe Quality Food) codes.

 

Physical Demand Characteristics:

*******Working Hours:  10 Hour shifts 4 days a week—Monday – Thursday  4am – 3pm*******

Breaks:                 2 x 15 minutes, 30 minute lunch

Surfaces:             Cement floor

PPE:       General:  Non-slip shoes, hairnet, uniform, hearing protection, steel or composite toe shoes

                Special:   Safety glasses, respirator, gloves, Arc Flash

 

Tools, Equipment, Work Aids Used:

Hand tools, pneumatic tools, electric hand tools, industrial lifts and material handling equipment, ladders, general shop tools (including yet not limited to:) grinders, stick welder, band saw, MIG welder, lathe, drill press, hydraulic press, multimeter.
