KEY RESULT AREAS:   Casting Processing and Automation Applications, Project Performance, Budget.

 

SUMMARY: Propose, evaluate, and oversee casting processing and automation initiatives at the location.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Universal

Essential

Review current and potential casting processing equipment and automation suppliers to evaluate application to castings and customer requirements at the plant.

Complete engineering studies involving the development, modification, feasibility, and economic impact of casting processing techniques.

Present findings to plant management and recommend course of action for approval.

Plan, analyze, design, specify, prepare estimates and gather other required information for casting processing and automation projects in accordance with accepted engineering principles and practices.

Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and other technical people in order to mutually resolve problems involving casting processing and automation systems.

Apply methods engineering analysis techniques to complex projects for improving workplace design or production area effectiveness and performance, and recommend changes based on the findings.

Organize, coordinate, and supervise approved projects through various stages of development to completion.

When size, scope, and nature of the projects require, lead other project people as required.

Stay abreast of new technologies in engineering techniques, casting processing equipment, and various automation systems and materials, incorporating them into projects.

Provide training on new technologies when necessary.

Communicate with plant and Corporate engineering staff concerning concepts, proposals, projects, and new technologies and techniques.

Recommend budget plans and monitor compliance with approved budget working with superintendents in auto processing centers.

Additional Participate in area continuous improvement efforts including Employee Involvement activities.
