Die Cast Tooling Engineer

Job Location: 
Charleston, SC

Build, repair and maintain molds, mold components, trim dies, trim die components, fixtures, gages and other machining components in support of die cast operations



• Design Molds, jigs and fixtures for use in hot chamber die cast process

• Conduct methodical analysis of tooling and operational data to continuously improve tooling and mold operations

• Participate in project and product development from inception to completion of production run

• Communicate and coordinate customer and supplier needs as related to production and tooling / molding functions

• Quote new tooling, mold and operational repairs in support of overall operation



• Engineering educational background preferred, but commensurate on the job experience highly valued in place of formal education

• Preference for Die Cast Mold makers with a minimum of five years’ experience in a high volume   environment

• Proficient in tool design using 2 and 3D modeling software

• Thorough working knowledge and skill in CNC machining

• In depth knowledge of feeds and speeds analysis, as well as print interpretation, GT&D and mathematical skills

• Strong skills developed in the areas of mold, trim dies, gates, runners, fixtures and creation of molds

• Strong project management skills, including flow analysis and process design

• Will consider relocation and US sponsorship for appropriate candidate
