EHS Manager

Marshfield, WI

The EHS Manager will partner with the plant leadership teams in order to reach the organization’s most important goal of keeping employees safe.  The EHS Manager will also be responsible for guiding the team to ensure compliance with Health and EHS regulatory requirements and corporate EHS policies and guidelines.

This EHS leader will evaluate the current program and envision, develop, and execute to future state standards within two large unionized medium to higher volume, highly customized manufacturing campus with over 2 million square feet under roof.  The EHS Manager will establish and maintain an effective system of communication within the organization, developing effective working relationships with the EHS committee, department managers, plant managers, and employees.  There is unwavering support for change from upper leadership.

This position has a direct reporting relationship to the Plant Managers, with a dotted line to Corporate EH&S.  The EHS Manager must develop a strong cooperative relationship with the Plant leadership team.

 

Key accountabilities are as follows:

Executes EHS programs

Manages 3-4 direct reports

Identify, scope, and facilitate execution of EHS improvement projects

Schedule and implement EHS training for all employees

Focus on injury and worker’s compensation cost reduction

Design and direct a program to achieve world-class EHS performance

Ensure compliance with governmental and company Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and policies

Evaluate, assess and alter EHS procedures and policies for the benefit of employees

Lead injury and incident investigations and root cause analysis

 

Requirements

BS/BA in a related field - Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety/Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering, Management

Five years related experience in a manufacturing environment, or proven experience deemed to be equivalent

Working knowledge of worker compensation, Federal, State & Local Environmental Regulations, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ACGIH

Experience with Lean Operating Systems

Experience influencing, training, and leading teams

Some travel required

Multi-plant EHS experience helpful

Lean manufacturing experience helpful
