Food Quality and Safety Generalist

Job Location: 
Platteville, WI

Our client is looking for a Food Quality and Safety Generalist near or willing to relocate to Southern Wisconsin. This company is well renowned in the food and beverage industry. They are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to implement and improve the food and safety quality programs, while keeping in line with standards of the customer, company, and regulations.

 

Responsibilities:

Use judgement and critical thinking to determine production action when there is policy deviation, while keeping safety standards in mind

Adhere to and enforce safety rules in compliance with all company policies and procedures

Report and document any instances of employees not following program as required

Work alongside Manager to maintain food safety programs according to the FSSC22000 Standard

Aid Manager in preparation and following through of external audits

Administer internal audits and mock recalls then act on and implement corrective measures to better the process

Ensure all product quality and specifications are met continuously within all departments

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferred to be in food science or dairy manufacturing

3+ years of experience in quality systems preferred, specifically: ISO9001/ISO22000/FSSC22000

Experience working in accordance with regulatory agency inspections and requirements (USDA, FDA)

Internal auditor certification – HACCP/HARPC

PCQI Certification

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Active listener, effective communicator, hard worker, self-motivated

Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
