Foundry Manager

Job Location: 
Racine, WI

The primary responsibility of this position is to direct and manage all foundry operations/production.  Additionally, this position ensures customer satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, and machines.    


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Direct, coach and develop production staff

Plan, manage and evaluate the work of shift employees and partner with Human Resources for resolution of employment, performance, turnover, and disciplinary issues

Coordinate with staff to originate work orders

Establish and monitor overall shift performance for production and quality standards

Conduct communication meetings

Implement policies and procedures; recommends improvements in production methods, equipment operating procedures and working conditions

Execute light to moderate repairs on equipment of all types and sizes; lead, train and coordinate the activities of other Assemblers

Perform other duties as assigned



BS in Business or related field preferred; or equivalent experience

Knowledge of foundry and casting processes

Knowledge of complex equipment repair methods and technologies

Five years of progressive management skills, including employee hiring and retention, performance review and discipline

Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others

Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure

Knowledge of standard, regulatory and internal safety policies and procedures with respect to manufacturing environment

Team-oriented and motivator

Knowledge of MS applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to communicate with internal and external customers (all levels)

Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems

Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
