Industrial Electrician

Summary

Industrial Electrician oversees the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems. They test existing equipment and determine if components of a system need to be upgraded or replaced. They check switches, motors, regulators and other parts of an industrial electrical system.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Compliant with local, city, state and national electrical codes
Properly reading blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams
Gather appropriate material for daily task
Install conduits using a hand, mechanical or hydraulic bender
Install new wire in existing systems or repairing old wiring
Provide power and controls to motors, HVAC and other equipment
Install fire alarm, security, lighting control, data/telecom, and energy management systems
Mount panel boards, transformers, switch gear, transfer switches and other various types of equipment
Troubleshoot and repair all systems

 

Qualifications and Skills

5 years’ experience
Master Licensed Electrician
Highschool diplomas/GED
Technical Degree a plus
problem-solving, troubleshooting, analytical and critical thinking capabilities strong communicators and team members who can also work independently as needed
Attention to detail, time management skills and organizational skills should also be displayed in this occupation
above-average eye-hand coordination
ability to stand, kneel or crouch for long periods of time throughout the day
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
