Under the leadership of the Director of Operations, the Lean Specialist will work directly with the Operations, Manufacturing, Quality and Safety teams to lead, refine, and execute a Continuous Improvement/Lean road map.


Typical Responsibilities:

Develop reports of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs.

Provide event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits. Uses appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements.

Seek and evaluates process improvement and Lean information, materials, and methods to match specific organizational needs as outlined by management, and adapts them to use in the execution of process improvement events.

Present, facilitate and lead assigned process improvement events using methods of culture-appropriate team building, team energizing, data gathering and analysis, problem solving, project management and state of the art presentation and platform skills.

Lead process improvement projects by facilitating groups and teams, managing projects, monitoring for sustainability, presenting results and recommendations, and developing metrics and measurement tools to improve operating processes toward greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Run Kaizen events, conduct analysis, interpret data and facilitate projects with minimal supervision.

Lead, Maintain and drive SQDC boards

Be an overall resource and support/Lean mentor to all teammates.

Run bi-weekly continues improvement meetings in all departments.



Bachelor degree, preferably Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent;

Expert knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Operational Excellence Principles, 6S, CI, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Standard Work, Poka Yoke, and other lean tools

Lean Certification STRONGLY preferred

Minimum of 3 years of related lean experience/training or equivalent combination of continuous improvement or operational excellence

Strong quality system knowledge and skills

Strong leadership and change agent skills

Strong data gathering, mining, and analyses skills

Ability to travel if needed

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Project Management experience preferred
