The Machining/Programming Manager will oversee the daily production and operations of the machining department. This includes production planning, employee leadership, knowledge of job costing, and expense control. This position is responsible for leading the Machine Shop in a manner that produces timely and efficient output to meet customer demands.

The successful candidate must have the ability to program, setup, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines and provide leadership and support for each of the processes employed by the Machining department employees.  

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Responsible for the full range of supervisory duties including employee development, evaluation and hiring, payroll,

   counseling, scheduling, performance monitoring, etc. while monitoring and maintaining a safe working environment.

* Production leadership, ensuring prompt and on time delivery of quality parts in the most efficient and safest manner

   on an ongoing basis.

* Standardization of procedures to improve efficiency of area employees.

* Analyze needs and make business case recommendations for expanding Machining department capabilities.

* Performing CNC setup, operation, programming when necessary.

* Over-see the install of equipment as it comes

REQUIREMENTS:

* Mechanical Engineering Degree or 5-10 years machining high volume precision parts in the automotive industry

* Setup and operation ability of CNC Mills, Lathes, Swiss, Router and other machines.

* A minimum of five years of experience as a Machine Shop Supervisor or Manager.

* Programming and trouble-shooting experience

* Detail-oriented, knowledge of shop math, machining, computers, communication, quality, safety, and team/independent working.
