AUTOMOTIVE PLASTIC INJECTION MOLD MAKERS NEEDED IN SOUTHERN INDIANA!! Are you a Mold Maker looking for new GROWTH opportunities at an automotive Tier 1 supplier? Can you work from blueprints to build and repair thermoplastic and thermoset inject molds? Do you have at least an Associate degree in Tool & Manufacturing Technology or experience building thermos plastic injection molds?

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

a. Works with Supervisor, Tool Engineer, Designer and Shop Foreman to understand job scope

b. Works with the Scheduler to develop job schedule

 c. Works with Supervisor - Mold Making to finalize job plan

d. Works with and directs the work of Manual Machinists to complete work

e. Follows flow of job through the shop to verify that all pieces get made

f. Maintains a detailed time collection to track the amount of hours-required to build required molds

g. Performs conventional machining as follows:

1. Lathe work – turning, drilling, threading

2. Tool Sharpening

3. Mill work

4. Surface grinding

5. Welding

6. Drilling

7. Tapping/Threading

8. Polishing

h. Performs conventional machining of details and assembly of molds

i. Stays current with latest machining hardware improvements/upgrades

j. Provides technical support for continuous improvement equipment and processes

k. Spots off parting line to insure flash free parts

l. Performs other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

a. Must meet one of the following Education and experience requirements:

1. Associates Degree in Tool and Manufacturing Technology or a related discipline plus 5 to 8 years of experience building Thermoplastic injection molds; OR

2. High School Diploma or GED plus 8 to 10 years of experience building Thermoplastic injection molds (experience working in automotive lighting and a JIT manufacturing environment is preferred)

b. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

1. Ability to work well within a team environment

2. Ability to read and work off of blueprints and tool drawings

3. Mechanical and machining skills (including hand working skills)

4. Analytical and problem solving skills

5. Written and verbal communications skills
