Operations Supervisor

The Operations Supervisor will supervise and lead production colleagues in manufacturing good quality product while working safely in an efficient manner to ultimately achieve production goals and customer satisfaction.   


Responsibilities include:

Successfully oversee production of product offering, from insuring accurate inventory to manufacturing quality product with efficient personnel to correctly packaging all components and shipping on time, which translates into consistently satisfied customers

Communicate well with the Regional Manager, plant personnel, customers and office personnel in order to plan, set and meet production goals that will provide excellent customer service

Select, train and lead direct reports toward successfully meeting productions goals, daily.

Promotes a safe working environment by example, and by assuring all safety procedures are followed, including championing all safety initiatives.

Lead quality improvements, including investigating non-conformances, determining root causes and implementing effective corrective actions. 

Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles with demonstrated successful continuous improvement experience.

Escalate issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner; collaborate to resolution.

Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees

Update and maintain, Gemba boards to document Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity activities.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, company programs and policies and the Company Code of Conduct


Other Duties:

Complete Correspondence Courses and other continuous learning activities as needed and assigned, including the development of product and systems knowledge, leadership skills.

Assume and expand responsibilities, as needed



To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.



High school diploma or equivalent. Post high school education in industrial, business, or manufacturing technology preferred



Experience in steel manufacturing or hollow metal doors a plus.

Demonstrated positive leadership skills to train, develop, influence, support, motivate and discipline appropriately in a manufacturing environment.



Basic Geometry and Math skills:  Good math skills are required to understand complex instructions, prints, and design, creating and interpreting reports with accurate data.

Excellent Problem-solving, organizational and planning skills for minimizing disruptions, improving quality of product and operational excellence, and implementing process for maximum output.

Able to read and understand engineering drawings, identify steel type and gauge.

Good knowledge of brake-forming equipment.

This role requires someone who is self-motivated, self-regulating and able to meet job expectations with minimal supervision.
