Plant Superintendent

The Plant Superintendent works under the VP of Operations and the COO to supervise all production and employees in accordance with OHSA, FDA, & USDA policies and standards to monitor production, quality, quality targets, housekeeping maintenance, all the while maintaining discipline and leadership.

The Plant Superintendent will be responsible for all the processing and manufacturing of product withing company standards. Ensuring all employees have the materials and equipment necessary to complete their respective tasks safely and efficiently. Superintendent will work to promote a positive culture and team environment with managers, supervisors, and department personnel to succeed in achievement of goals.

Use continuous monitoring of daily reports, material usage, and employee activity to meet or exceed written specifications for products

Monitor that all equipment is being properly cleaned and sanitized along with all areas of the production process.

Maintain inventory and monitor usage of cleaning materials and supplies.

Work with vendors regarding quotes, services, and orders

Troubleshoot problems and recommend changes and solutions as needed

Understand and complete all required reporting

Keep Plant Manager up to date with the status of the plant

Ensure all employees are following safety requirements

Eliminate potential and any present hazards at the Plant and ensure safe processes and procedures are being implemented

Oversee training, upgrading, and evaluation/review of all employees and coach or discipline when appropriate

Know about all relevant manufacturing equipment and processes

Direct and coordinate department activities based on production schedule prepared by the R&D and QA departments

Coordinate daily activities, maintenance, and engineering of operations personnel and others to manage production flow and solve any production related problems

Implement process improvements that will positively effect product and service quality, along with financial performance



Experience working in USDA sanitary environments

Follow all safety requirements

2+ years of manufacturing supervision experience required

Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet research skills and database systems

Proficient written and verbal communication

Works well with others in a team/group setting to meet deadlines

Be able to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision

Accomplish tasks efficiently in a fast-paced work environment

Proven leadership skills, demonstrated ability to use judgement and discretion while maintaining confidentiality

Self-starter, take initiative, use creativity to troubleshoot and problem solve issues and determine possible solutions

Ability to plan, prioritize, organize tasks

Ability to multitask multiple projects successfully working toward completion

Physical ability to perform required tasks with prolonged standing, sitting, and other potential activities found necessary to complete duties
