Job Description

Performs a variety of design engineering work, assisting in the planning and design of new products and the redesign of existing products with minimal supervision. Working with factory personnel, the product engineer is responsible for the integration of materials, methods, testing and tools necessary to bring new products to the company portfolio.



Participate in design sessions for new product features and capabilities.

Work on product design, mold design, and tool/fixture design.

Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in the manufacturing process.

Participate in testing and provide feedback.

Isolate, recreate, and provide fixes for the bugs reported at the production environment.

Work with on-site development team.

Update legacy CAD files to current format (SolidWorks) and update drawings as needed.

Create and maintain STP files for existing and new products where nothing exists, include variations for accessories, legs, etc.

Provide artwork for marketing materials

STP files for e-spec updates (including variations for accessories and leg heights)

Generate Adobe Illustrator 2D line art with dimensions for tech specs

Generate Adobe Illustrator 3D line art for price list, tech specs


Skills and Abilities:

Ability to convert STP to REVIT format.

Create renderings from engineering files.

MRP/ERP experience, QAD preferred / willingness to learn.

Ability to organize work load efficiently, meet tight timelines, problem solve effectively, and perform duties of the job accurately with input and follow-up from management.

Communication proficiency: excellent verbal, written and listening skills; ability to receive and convey information effectively with clients through all channels of communication.

Flexibility: willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

Self-motivated: ability to work with only moderate supervision.

Teamwork: able to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Be detailed oriented and thorough; complete projects as assigned.

Strong problem solving and analytical ability.


Minimum Requirements:

Associates Degree, or higher, in Mechanical Technology or related vocational experience. Recent degreed engineers will be considered.

Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D Software required, with manufacturing related technologies/ applications helpful.

2 to 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
