Responsibilities - Purchasing Manager

Leads and develops a highly productive and cohesive work team that is focused on meeting performance, productivity, quality, safety and customer service goals, including coaching and training team members as needed to drive short and long-term purchasing team strategies.
Establishes KPIs and annual targets to ensure suppliers’ cost, delivery, and service are appropriate to support company strategic objectives.  
Accountable for on-time delivery of all inbound parts shipments. Develops plans and coordinates with buyers, plant stakeholders and suppliers, as necessary, to guarantee on-time delivery. 
Develops and executes strategies to ensure attainment of annual targets. Strategy execution includes leading project tracking, issue resolution, and reporting as well as savings validation of purchasing activities required to meet annual targets.
Ensures that sourcing strategies are aligned to business requirements and are focused on extracting maximum value from the supply base.
Leads business reviews with major suppliers to drive operational excellence and ensure strategic relationships are successfully developed and sustained.
Works closely with the Purchasing Director in the development of purchasing policies, goals, and strategies, current and future purchasing, and supplier management strategies.
Creates a sustainable competitive advantage, in areas such as pricing, service, responsiveness, terms, technology, material availability, information, market intelligence, by developing and maintaining long term beneficial supplier relationships.
Keeps abreast of economic and industrial trends that affect markets, prices, availability, and develops strategies to mitigate risk and impact.
Contributes to and supports the existence of a positive work environment through personal involvement by communicating, interacting, and behaving in a manner that promotes productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, customers, vendors, and others with whom such relationships are important to the success of company operations.


Requirements - Purchasing Manager

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar

8+ years of experience as a Purchasing Manager or Lead/Senior Buyer with both supervisory and vendor management experience

Experience in purchasing direct and indirect materials

Prior automotive experience preferred

ERP experience (PLEX exposure is beneficial)
