Regional Operations Manager

Job Location: 
Houston, TX


Work with Terminal managers to ensure key metrics are being worked daily to drive improved results. Key factors include but are not limited to driver pay, tank wash margin, and driver hiring
Coach and mentor terminal managers on efficient and profitable terminal management
Drive a culture of operational excellence by holding all operations to the highest possible standard of compliance and accountability throughout all operations.
Work with sales to operationalize all revenue growth opportunities that provide revenue growth and driver increased market share.
Participate in monthly P&L reviews and use all available data to positively impact profitability and cost containment. 
Work with terminals and the driver services department of find new ways to grow and retain both Drivers and Independent contractors. 

Minimum education/experience necessary to perform the job:

7+ years of tank truck management experience
Recent verifiable experience in core P&L improvement process and procedure

Interviewing skills, to have discussions with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential information.
Active listening skills, to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say.
Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding
Distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
Observational skills, to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation
Writing skills, to communicate information effectively to operational leadership, DM’s customers, marketing, managers, and technical staff
Organizational skills, to work with the vast array of information gathered during the analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information
Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders
