Objective:

The Risk & Safety Manager investigates and manages property damage, cargo, and auto damage claims as well as workers’ compensation and personal injury claims.

 

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in the investigation, management and adjustment of property damage, cargo and auto damage claims, workers’ compensation claims, and personal injury claims.

Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations and responsible for claim reporting, tracking, and record keeping.

Interacts with claims adjusters, insurance companies, brokers, and third-party administrators.

Maintenance of all records, both hard copy and electronic, including logs.

Demonstrate complete knowledge of the claim file process through presentation of actions and responses to client questions.

Processes claims consistent with clients' and corporate policies, procedures and "best practices" and in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.

Generate reports to the Safety Director and Executive Team.

Produce, present, educate and train drivers and staff on Safety material, policy, procedures, rules and regulations of the company and FMCSA.

 

Requirements:

Must understand the urgency of claims reporting and follow-up

Experience in accident response and reporting, managing post-accident testing, towing, clean-up, and communication with law-enforcement also desirable.

Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations is required. 

Must have 1 - 3 years of claims experience that should include Worker's compensation and/or DOT accidents claims

Must be able to work independently based on periodic guidance and direction - with excellent organization, accuracy and follow-up skills
