Overview

Our clients’ teams can provide an entire substation protection and control drawing package including one-line drawings, three-line drawings, DC schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, component layouts, and steel designs.  

Responsibilities

Risk assessment and mitigation reviews related to the engineering and design scope deliverables for electric substations, including but not limited to:

Substation structures and/or modifications to existing steel structures

Below grade and above grade civil works

Environmental review/compliance

General arrangement and profile drawings

Project scoping

Grounding

Specifications and Standards

Safety

QA/QC

Assists as appropriate in the development of project estimates as it relates to substation design opportunities

Ability to develop and modify Substation Drawings as necessary

Mentor Engineers in the following areas:

Teach the fundamentals of Substation Design

How to manage Substation Design projects

Give general understanding of considerations of Station Design outside of Electrical portion

Structural, Geotechnical, Civil, Environmental

Develop organizational structure for us to perform complete Design for Substation work

Customer visits as necessary (Travel approximately 10% of the time)

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Minimum of ten years’ experience in the field of Substation Engineering

Ability to communicate technical details in a clear manner

Proven analytical and problem solving skills

Project management experience with ability to assist in multi-team projects to completion

Active PE License in a US State with ability and willingness to obtain licenses in further states as necessary
