Sr. Product Development Engineer

This position designs and integrates custom products to meet customer expectations, and engages with sales and customers to identify critical design inputs and develop solutions to meet their needs. Provides integration leadership of new products, including capital through order, design, trial, and commercialization stages.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads a cross-functional project team through all phases of the product development process.

Identify product designs and solutions to meet customer needs.

Designing experiments, analyzing, documenting, and summarizing results.
Partnering with Operations to understand manufacturing capabilities and equipment capacity and ensuring that new products are designed for manufacturing.

Provide development and scale-up planning for complex product developments.
Execute the integration of new products, including capital, into the business.

Working with the process engineering team for manufacturing and validate manufacturing processes, as well as create material specifications.
Develop specifications and design for integration in sample, trial, and commercialization steps.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

BS degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

7-15 years in engineering field, preferably designing new products.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products- Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Proficient in AutoCAD

Working knowledge of Quality Systems, including ISO 9001 (prefer ISO 13485)

 

PREFERRED:

Experience in contract manufacturing, medical products.

Prefer lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, and quality systems experience.

Project management experience

Experience in consumer product packaging.

Experience designing products with flexible films.
