Technical Sales Engineer

Job Location: 
Des Moines, IA

This position is responsible for Control Systems Sales within the designated territory (NE, IA, and SD). This person must be or become technically fluent in the company’s Control System offerings; apply knowledge to solve customer control systems needs and advance sales by creating and communicating clear value propositions to customers.

 

Responsibilities

Meet territory goals with profitable growth for the company’s Control Systems market segment

Responsible for development and long-term maintenance of assigned accounts in territory

Responsible for relationships of direct personal contact with customers on a regular basis

Responsible for understanding customer key business issues and drivers in order to align our product and service offerings with customer needs

Develop and implement specific sales plans for key accounts

Execute new product introductions

Coordinate sales activities with appropriate team members for other company product and service lines

Assist clients with attaining the product knowledge needed to make informed decisions

Create and deliver professional sales proposals for control system products and services

Enable and support other account managers to represent control system products and services thereby expanding the sales capacity for control systems

 

 

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior Control Systems experience is highly preferred

Must have prior sales experience and have an ability to develop and coordinate sales strategies

Strong customer service and relationship building skills
